A prostitute is a women who engages in sexual activities for money. Prostitutes are sometimes called sex workers and applies to any person of any gender. According to UNFPA, Nairobi has more than 29,494 out of the total over 133,675 prostitutes in Kenya. Most women do not engage in prostitution out of choice but rather due to poverty, forced prostitution, drug addiction and lack of education.
Prostitutes use prostitution as a means of survival to harsh economic conditions.
